A little bit about Chris: He is married and his wife just gave birth to their first child. He has been involved in Iowa politics since 2008 when he won the Republican primary election in Iowa House District 62, the south side of Des Moines, and ran against incumbent Democrat Bruce Hunter. He ran for Iowa Secretary of State in 2010 and tied for second with George Eichhorn in the three-way Republican primary, gaining over 46,000 votes. His wife and he ran a bakery together for over a year and a half and eventually decided to exit the business. He is presently coaching football at Nevada High School and attending college at Iowa State University studying Kinesiology, Exercise Philosophy of Military and Naval Science. He has played two seasons of semi-professional football; last year his team, the Des Moines Blaze, won their league and was named National Champions.
